Celebrating International Women’s Day
Happy International Women's Day to everyone celebrating the day!
This year, the UN Women Australia are promoting a theme that's close to our hearts “Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress”. It's a powerful call to action that encourages us to re-commit to the voice and needs of women, to invest in ourselves as women and to amplify the progress we need to make to ensure women’s experience is centrally on the table.
I have the pleasure of being in Sydney at the moment, and noted a quote from Mary Beard who is speaking here this week.
“You cannot easily fit women into a structure that is already coded as male; you have to change the structure”.
The structure needs to change and evolve to embrace and support the experiences of all humans. We all are aware of the outdated and oppressive systemic and structural barriers that have limited the broad range of human experience and expression to be valued and celebrated.
Although we may not all have the power to re-code the structure that Mary is referencing, one small step in this process is re-coding how we lead ourselves and using our more empowered momentum to contribute to the collective shift that is still so sorely needed for a better future for all humans.

In the spirit of investing and accelerating progress, let's talk about the role of self-leadership.
It's a game-changer for creating a more diverse, equal, and compassionate world. By honing our self-awareness, leading ourselves with confidence, and managing our actions intentionally, we're setting the stage for a future where everyone thrives – in our workplaces, communities, and beyond.
